Red Robin promoting bad spelling!
But this blue ribbon burger is GOOD... :)
My new MacBook Pro:
| MBP 15.4/CTO | |||||
With the following configuration:
It is pretty sweet so far, and first impressions are that it is:
1) Big - it was much bigger than expected... I was used to my 13.3" VAIO I guess.
2) Heavy/Dense - it is also really dense feeling, even for its size.
3) Slick and super quiet - The SSD drive makes it really quiet, which is great.
I picked up a Simpletech 500mb hard drive from CostCo to increase my storage capabilities.
Set up a 150mb Time Machine partition to backup the SSD, then left the remainder for storage, and copied my digital photo archive and iTunes library over...
Next, it was time for some software installs:
1) World of Warcraft + expansions - pulled these all down off the WoW site. Took forever...
2) SPORE - went ahead and installed this - yes, my priorities are screwed up.
3) TweetDeck - for my Twitter addiction.
4) VLC Player - always good to have.
5) VMWare Fusion - was going to do Bootcamp, but after some reading, decided on VMWare.
6) Windows XP Pro - my standalone copy is from 2002, so I patched it from SP1 to SP3.
a) Microsoft Office 2007 Pro - must have for work.
b) Google Chrome - I miss this already on the Mac.
c) Picasa 3 - I'm not used to iPhoto yet... Still need to get all my photo stuff figured out.
7) HP G85 drivers - both XP and OSX
Still have a bunch of stuff to install.
Other Windows software I want to get going:
1) Object Dock - to make my emulated Virtual PC seem more like a Mac...
2) Recuva - With all these files moving around, I'm nervous - this seems only on Windows.
3) Quicktime Pro - Ironically, I registered this Apple software on WinXP... mostly to save .mov
4) VLC Player - Guess I need this if I run any videos in WinXP for whatever reason.
5) BitComet - torrent software until I figure out my Mac solution.
Then, I still need to figure out my Mac software... and what I want/need... Still not up to date on the Mac software...
Now, there's a bunch more work- I need to get my work files organized ASAP - it is a ridiculous clutter right now...

Finally found the Samgyetang place. It looked like a massage place from the outside, so I couldn't find it the other day. The Samgyetang I had was a 1 month old black chicken cooked in a ginger soup. Also tried some ginger liquor, which was strong ... and strange.
Afterwards, went to a show called Cookin' Nanta, which is kind of like Blue Man Group, without the freakiness, but with an Asian slant, and food theme. It was a funny show, and I ended up on stage for the dumpling making contest... Fun times.
Could this be him?
