Uh oh, now I have a Dark Secret

So, apparently, corporate recruiters are being told specifically to avoid WoW players. Good thing I don't care about being part of the corporate rat race. Yesterday, I played some Starcraft with some potential business partners here in Seoul, so it's a good thing I work in the game industry. :)

Poor neglected KP is still only level 70.

FCC says WoW causes College Dropouts.

"You might find it alarming that one of the top reasons for college drop-outs in the U.S. is online gaming addiction - such as World of Warcraft - which is played by 11 million individuals worldwide."

This article references the FCC Commissioner's speech on telecom.

In college, we had SF2, MUDs, and 1200 baud modems. Oh and we walked a mile in snow barefoot to get to class. Isn't the real reason for dropping out of college lack of discipline, lack of interest, or a future as a Web2.0 gazillionaire?

Gold farming - sketchy stuff...

Here's a Wired article about Gold Farming and IGE. I met Brock a couple years ago at GDC at some dinner. He seemed like a nice enough guy at the time. Sounds like he got out at the right time.
